Feels good man. I wish he still had the actual tail and the duck bill instead of the weird lips but I can't argue with the dual arm cannons and increased bulk. Nigga is like two alterations from being a Megaman fire based robot/Navi.

It's pretty good in Crystal. Not very great, but also not total garbage, it's decent. Training a lv5 Magby when you're in your mid 20s already is boring tho, luckily there's the forest for that.

How crazy is it to run max HP max defense Magmortar with a defensive item like HDB, sitrus berry, or assault vest? Because that's what I do.

It's not very good, but it's decent at spreading burns with Flame Body and Scorching Sands as long as it can survive 2-3 hits from a physical attacker. It's either that or choice scarf/specs with basically no ability.

I still do like him better than Magmar though. I just am still willing to admit a combination of the designs would look better than one or the other individually. Mortar would be better with a bill and a tail, but Magmar would benefit from the arm cannons, back spikes, and not being such a short little manlet that looks like a rejected Charmeleon evolution.

I use eviolite Magneton. It's not optimal, but it's not bad enough to really be bad either. I just look at it as having a niche of being faster than Magnezone can possibly be without having to be locked into a move from a choice scarf, so it technically does have things only it can do while still having the comparable damage and possibly better bulk, or at least comparable bulk, I've never bothered to do any calculations.
