No, it took them 11 years to ban Kyurem-Black (more accurately it took GF 11 years to give BBK Dragon Dance and Ice STAB without a charging turn and make it good enough to ban) and start paying attention to regular Kyurem now that the superior version was no longer overshadowing it.

Freeze Dry is what makes Kyurem broken. It counters my Toxapex, so I now have to think, rather than just try and groom my opponent.

Nothing in OU can consistently eat a specs Freeze Dry except Heatran. The only typing that resists it are Ice and Steel, no other Ice-types are viable and Steels get hit with Earth Power.
Melmetal has the typing but lacks the special bulk to handle Kyurem.

Kyurem was always able to punch holes through teams. But gen 5~7 had better, more efficient options for that. With freeze dry kyurem can't be walled by bulky waters like slows and pex.

On another good note Kyurem is shitting on stall with sub roost too. Thanks to Icicle spear blissey can't really stop it. Pretty based mon all around, just needed better moves and diversity in boots to become a OU citizen.
