>>47072690for a single player in-game experience, abilities are mostly obnoxious. no battle in the game is ever going to really last long enough for your ability to really pay off, so at best you just risk noxious enemy abilities inducing status on what would otherwise be a clean KO. fr/lg is horrible for this and in most playthroughs i end up being pushed towards special sweepers to spare myself running back and forth between every wild encounter and centers.
held items used to be fun but gen 3/4's revamp introduced too many new items. the autism involved in keeping track of what a fucking "kepsley berry" is as opposed to a "psncurberry" doing what it says on the tin has me leaning towards dropping them actually being a decent decision as well
the game is shit but those are two positives
