If multiverse theory is true, it means there's a universe identical to ours except nobody invented the bicycle, or bread, or miniskirts. There's even a universe where all three were never thought of. There's a universe with lakes filled with fucking battery acid if the theory is true. Pokemon is just abiding by those same rules. If you dislike the entire concept of a multiverse, that's completely fine, but to nitpick certain parts of it just shows you're ignorant of what a multiverse really is.
