I liked the old gym system. The current one makes taking them pointless. I stopped playing years ago, but my grandparents still play it as an excuse to be active, so that's cool.

I don't really care about catching pokémon, only using my favorites. I played around the time the Giga Melmetal was announced, but nowadays I only get daily buddy hearts to give my faves a ribbon.

I wonder how it warps perceptiin of the frenchise for someone who only played GO, where Stunfisk and Azumaril are meta defining powerhouses and Charm is a very strong attacking move.

It's a fine spinoff and a decent way to fill up the Pokedex. Battles aren't particularly engaging to me but raids can be fun.

Stuff like this is part of why I like Pokémon Go. Certain Pokémon that get have been shit on by Game Freak can be reimagined int meta defining staple. Fucking Meganium is one of the best starters in Great league. Also the Balance patches mean that there’s a actually a chance in hell that Pokémon with bad moves can be saved.
