RNG abused for a shiny Adamant Ho-Oh with 31 Atk IVs, just because I could.

I would have gone for shiny Latios because I love the colours, but I needed one with good stats for the battle frontier and it would have taken an hour between resets to abuse for a shiny with high stats/good nature. Might try to RNG the other legendaries just for the sake of it, or at the very least for Rayquaza.

They fixed the breeding seed, it doesn't take TID into account when generating its seed, like Gen VII did. Every time you put pokémon in the daycare, or every time you boot up the game, it generates the seed fresh.

I spent 22 days fishing, at first it was a Dratini, but for no reason I changed the fishing rod and started a little at the end to hunt Dragonair. I can say that I fucked up my journey a little bit at X Y, there were 30 phases and at 28 I took a two-month break, i was frustrated. When I came back it took a phase of Poliwrath and in 20 minutes I got my third member of my team, unfortunately it is not female, but the name Astolfo matched him.

Just injecting a shiny feels like there's no real effort involved. RNG abuse may be easier than actually hunting, but at least it requires some level of effort, given the time investment and the chances for failure, meaning it still feels rewarding when you finally pull it off and get the shiny/stats you want. Plus full-odds hunting in gen 3/4 sucks ass, I've already done it once and that's enough time wasted for me.

Cheating's cheating, whether you're intentionally forcing the game to roll what you want, or you straight-up edit your file to add it to your collection.
Don't like full-odds, don't hunt in full-odds games, but don't call what you're doing hunting either, if you do RNG older games.

Funny thing is, I did make my save with the Cute Charm glitch, but I just wanted to hatch a shiny Eevee since it's more fulfilling through breeding. But also it can have egg moves, a wider range of natures, and can have more IVs. Which, the Eevee did end up having 3 perfect IVs, so I'm pretty happy about that.

I've gotten shinies through "natural" random encounters.

I've bred for specific shinies using masuda, shiny charm, etc.

I've accidentally gotten shinies through breeding trying to get perfect IV's.

I have even injected shinies.

In the end it is just pixels and how much value you place on your time. Also who the fuck cares lmao, but good job everyone on your shinies :^)

Doing a shiny badge quest in Soul Silver (Need 1 shiny per badge + 1 for the Elite 4 and 1 for Red)
Last shiny was Stantler while hunting for Spinarak in my Heart Gold. I killed that radioactive freak
Next hunt is the Spinarak I've been hunting in my Heart Gold. After that will probably be Armaldo after I get the Nat-Dex

Kinda, I was going for Heracross over Spearow, but headbutting trees was giving me cancer so I settled; and I was going for Misdreavus in the safari zone but got Haunter, and I was fine with that but the ball is off. Everything else was the intended target. Spinarak is the only thing I've phased for because I really like it.

I hunt for about 2-3 hours each night while watching TV or whatever. Takes a couple weeks from what I've seen. I usually get one between 40-60 hours per pokemon, sometimes more, sometimes less.
