Ig gen 9 would come in 2022, which means they announce it right before legends releases, killing the sales of what is, for them, brand new territory. They already invested in Legends being their long-term milk. The success of Legends affects features in gen 9. They are seeing if the whole concept of open-world pokemon even works, so they can flip the switch on camera freedom in gen 9, and whether or not gen nine will be as "traditional"
If you seriously think they would let Legends age like BDSP by releasing five titles within twelve months, slit your throat promptly.
