Gen 6 was never truly awful as some make it out to be, it’s just a very flawed gen that suffered from terrible decisions regarding the single player aspect but it did add some phenomenal improvements in the gameplay and multiplayer components that were genuinely good which future gens should be building upon the good things gen 6 did while striving to improve from its flaws but they don’t and it resulted in gen 6 being associated with the garbage things that gen 7 and 8 brought to the series.

Eh, it was cheaper than a third versions of a somewhat equivalent amount of extra content in a third version. Other than that I have nothing to say, was not worth the price, kinda disappointed. But I still played and enjoyed what little content it offered.

It wasn't. It was more expensive than even both of the gen 7 games together.
And it was all poorly tacked-on postgame content, and none of the returning Pokemon were integrated into the main game.

DLC is a better deal adjusted to the system price. If they had made USUM as DLC nobody would question it, the change just happened to occur with the change to a new system.

It's not just that though

The whole Pokemon World Championships things, even though it's supposed to be Ash's goal this series, feels like an afterthought, because a huge chunk of episodes are dedicated to Goh catching Pokemon he'll rarely use, and even in episodes that are focused on Ash's goal, they still take time out to have Goh catch more Pokemon

And while we do have more plot-important episods set in Galar, 90% of the episodes being filler set in other regions fucks up the flow

It also makes the Pokemon world feel small when they can travel to a faraway region like Unova and make it back to Kanto the same day

There was more content in Sword's base game that apealed to me than there was cntent that ever appeared in a third version anon, given if you weren't bothered with comp play (like I've always been), there was nothing to do in third versions that couldn't be done in the base game, while I spent the majority of my Sword playtime running rainds with people.
Content is relevant, but we all know you're just bitching about not having enough pogymans in-game.

He has nothing to do with character design or pokémon design. Art direction in this case means how the region looks aesthetically and given they were basing it off bongland, no wonder they used a bonglander to nail the spirit of the place. There ends his influence on the series, he's still a junior member of the team, given he didn't even blow in with Ohmori for RS.

Ohmori started at Game Freak for Ruby/Sapphire's dev cycle (and is now series Director), Turner didn't start for another 8-ish years because Gen V was his first dev project.
He's respected enough at Game Freak, he was allowed make Harmoknight despite only being there about 5 years by the time it launched, but the fact he's not pokémon directr or character director shows his standing. That quote from RotS fits: "You are on this council, we do not grant you the title of Master". he's art Director, but not the definitive visionary for how everything gets knocked out.
But gaijin retards, too callow to have moved half-way across the world to a foreign culture and working life sit and cry some gaijin fucker DID have the brass balls to not only got to Japan to work, but explicitly to get a job working on the games he grew up enjoying.

Art Director =/= Character Designer, specially in this game where credits of the game itself clearly show Ken Sugimori and Suguru Nakatsui as the lead supervisors, both who are much more major employees of GF.

Turner got to decide the feeling of the region, the effects of dynamax and more, but they did NOT trust the Gaijin with the single most important part of production, the marketable monsters and characters.
