Does anybody else actually really want to see the return of Let's Go?

As someone who doesn't like turnbased RPGs and much prefers the hunting and collecting aspect of pokemon, the mainline gamefreak games always alienated me and it felt nice to have my gameplay preferences pandered to for once.

A game based on collecting Pokemon instead of battling thdm is a great idea. Let's Go just executed it poorly. I don't want my catch to become RNG-infested shit like in Go. Not being able to weaken them was what killed it, but the janky motion controls in docked mode didn't help at all.

The whole, 'you threw the ball perfectly dead centre on the screen but the Pokemon started its attack animation while the ball was in midair eo you didn't catch it,' shit really infuriated me. Honestly that along with the motion controls and increased number of three-shake breakouts made it unplayable for me.

A game about collecting Pokemon rather than battling other trainers with them would be great, but Go mechanics are the wrong way to do it.

This is probably what legends arceus is going to be like, since its open world you can probably catch every non-legendary without having to do any battles

I would like to give it one more chance with Let’s Go Johto, which is what I hoped would release this year but unfortunately is not. I think LGPE was decent enough and could easily be improved upon.

I liked lets go, was a remake of gen 1 so the writing was minimalist, motion controls were a bit annoying at times, but it actually had the best legendary battles of the entire series. Needing to defeat a juiced up version of the legendary before being able to catch it is something they should bring back.
Plus lets be honest here, catching pokemon in the core games is more tedious than entertaining 99% of the time, and it hasn't changed in 20 years. Lets Go at least tried to make it interesting again.

Also Eevee is cute as hell.

Okay, so why can't that mechanic apply to every wild battle?

Let’s Go did four things right. One, it improved the distribution of Pokémon in the region; they were not straight up remakes. Every route has been tweaked with brand new encounters. Even trade or gift exclusive Pokémon are now readily available in the wild. They even increased the levels of wild encounters as you progress through the game. Two, it changed the rosters of important boss characters like gym leaders and Elite Four members. Look at Koga, Sabrina, or Blaine in LGPE compared to FRLG or Yellow. They are drastically improved. Three, it has one of the best TM selections of any Pokémon games, covering the most necessary moves, rather than the gimmicky TMs we had in FRLG and Yellow. And four, Madame Celadon. Johto is the one region that struggles the most with Pokémon distribution and the rosters of boss characters. If we had an improved Johto game that actually tries to rectify the bad parts of it, it would be so much better,

But I like Legends. Part of the reason LGPE was good was because it was something of a return to form after USUM but it was also something new. It wouldn't be the same if they kept doing that, so Legends is a good way for them to do something even more different.

Yes if they don't cut mechanics like abilities and held items and include at the very least all the crossgen evolutions of the game
Let's Go was enjoyable but felt very incomplete because it was lacking all the crossgen evolutions
Also incoherent since they included modern mechanics like fairy type, physical special split and etc but excluded others like abilities, and included nugen Pokémon like Alolans and Meltan line but excluded crossgens
