With the exception of some battle tracks it has the worst OST easily.
Alder, Zekrok/Reshiram, Deer etc...all forgettable and the route/city themes make me want to turn off the DS

almost every route had an optional offshoot for you to have your exploration
heck, FUCKING ROUTE ONE has an offshoot backtrackable extra two routes that open up with surf, and reward you with a hidden grottoe where shiny pokemon appear, hard trainers, and a fucking magma stone to catch heatran

Honestly I'd say gen 5 is my absolute favorite but yes I did feel like the battle music was lacking. Champion themes didn't have that same oomph as past games, the percussion in the BW2 rival theme was grating, the low health theme got on my nerves, etc. I still maintain that the overworld themes were the best in the series though.
