Gen 9 will end hacking completely. Certain aspects will be tied to toys, which will include tcg cards. The cards are non playable in the tcg, as they will have a different weight do to a chip inside them.

Things like evolution and tm's like earthquake and moonblast will be affected. When you go to a tournament, you will be required to show judges your cards. if you do not have them, it will result in a dq.

The toys will be small figures with no electronics. The epic sized figures like venusaur and gyrados will include 20 cards. Cards will not be randomized, meaning for example; if you buy 10 ponyta you'll get 10 flame charge tm cards.

The reasoning is hackers will get around any in game checks, but can't fake physical items with small chips inside.
