literally all the trainer-owned Bronzor/Bronzong in DPPt have Levitate so there’s rarely any confusion, and the same is true in competitive since Heatproof is automatically inferior for not providing an actual immunity

This. Lanturn does the gimmick better and even then Volt Absorb is still preferred.

levitate / heatproof hardly even counts as a gimmick
