>>47130212>When has it ever been portrayed as a knight or a guardian angel? Almost all of their appearances they just act cute more than anythingThe sad thing is, they DID used to be portrayed that way, way back in Gen 3 when they were first introduced. The Gardevoirs used in the games at the time (The Hoenn and Orre ones) were all male, and the premier Gardevoir was the one that was used by Wally, a sick and frail child. Wally's Gardevoir was a protecter who helped keep them safe (very useful for a kid who could keel over dead if the air was bad enough) and it's implied having such a supportive Pokemon is what gave Wally the strength to get to the end of Victory Road. Gardevoir was also one of the most important characters in RRT/BRT, a ghostly spirit who watched over the player, gave them helpful and encouraging advice, did their best to shield them from harm (even driving off Gengar a couple of times) and was later revealed to have been one of the individuals who brought them over to the Pokemon World in the first place. This Gardevoir was, quite literally, an actual Guardian Angel as they kept the player safe and tried to guide them in the right direction to help them save the world. They cared for the planet and wanted to protect it even after they were betrayed by their trainer and were killed as a result. They were probably one of the most noble Pokemon characters that the series has ever had and their actions not only save the player's life multiple times but help to eventually save the world; all of this WITHOUT a single girly trait or cute shot, and the Gardevoir even allows the player character to stay in the world of Pokemon and sends them back when they show that they don't want to leave all their friends behind. There's even a post game sidequest where you can free her from her curse and bring her back to life, if you want, and she'll join you immediately if you do so.
It's like watching your childhood hero be reduced to a porn star.
