Misty was really the perfect 90s love interest, a character who wasn't blatantly in love with the protagonist but was and pretended not to be. Like that girl who would annoy you on the school yard, only to admit later that she had a crush on you. The indigo league really captured what it was like to be a kid rather than just depicting sanitized role models of children
