But the later games feel like they sacrifice content and don't have the graphics to make up for it. Sinnoh has a lot to do in it, but is it going to have any more content than DPPt, or is it going to just be "faithful"? For twice the price of what I paid, I expect more than the original. One of the reasons I adore HGSS is that it included tons of things I wanted when I first played Gen II as a kid. It had most of Crystal's content, it had a Giovanni battle when he was totally absent. It had a way to get the Kanto fossils. The PokéGear could fit every appropriate Trainer and you didn't have to pick and choose. There were Gym Leader rematches. Removed/reduced areas like Viridian Forest, Seafoam Islands, and Cerulean Cave were restored, and I could even catch Articuno, Zapdos, Moltres, and Mewtwo just like what I wanted in the original. There are following Pokémon for every last Pokémon instead of just Pikachu like in Yellow. You can get a Kanto starter postgame for beating Red. The female character even plays an NPC role. The Pokéwalker is a huge upgrade over the Pocket Pikachu 2 and even uses the Game Boy Printer music. Not only that, but you can get a number of Hoenn and Sinnoh Pokémon too using things like your radio or new Legendary events. Yeah, I have some new complaints, but it felt like a real love letter.
With BDSP, I own DPPt, so why should I pay the price for either version if it's going to be mostly 1:1? The "modern Pokémon conveniences" they mention make me nervous like the baked in Exp. Share, and I'm sure they'll be more linear like Platinum, so I imagine something mostly 1:1 that sacrifices art direction and makes a few unfortunate changes but for twice the price (+ the NSO subscription to use online which was free in DPPt, and potentially a Home subscription to even have a GTS).
