there's a reason why gen 1's ost was horrifically mediocre and awfully instrumented, but the moment ichinose showed up for gen 2 pokemon suddenly got a pretty good ost with some functional occasionally creative (if basic) instrumentation (and there's a reason why the shit tracks like dragon's den and victory road are exclusively masuda's work, with no re-arrangement from ichinose)
