> Take the word monster out of the Kanto starters and you'll see how stupid this argument is. Venusaur sounds so much more retarded if you say "toad with a tree on its back"but they are monsters, in this context monster is specifically refering to that kaiju/dinosaur-esque quality. dragons are monsters by default and let's not pretend venusaur/blastoise are merely a regular cartoon turtle/toad(to the point to this day a lot of people don't even realize venusaur is toad-based). Even going from egg groups, all 3 belong to the monster(kaiju) egg group, unlike most other starters in the franchise. Now just because Incineroar is a fictional cartoon creature, to claim it is a monster in the same capacity as them is indeed retarded.
Now as far as the "job descriptions" which you've apparently consider to be >"attributing negative traits to stuff you don't like", that's something you can't attribute to the Kanto starters because they lack a job motif and you can't pretend these roles (archer, wrestler, mermaid, spy, drummer, soccer player) aren't major fundamental elements in the concept of the other starters.
>what's venusaur, charizard and blastoise's design concept?a toad/dragon/turtle monster with a plant, flaming tail, water cannons
>what's intelleon, rillaboom and incineroar's design concept?a water lizard with a spy motif, a grass gorilla with a drummer motif, a fire rabbit with a soccer player motif
these are objective assessments, there's no skirting around it
