Except that the Fighting type revolves around martial arts, which is why a lot of fighting types look like martial artists, and why more animalistic mons like Luxray get little to no fighting moves.

Not only would Sound type be redundant and retarded, but it would also make the Normal type even more generic and bad by taking away most of its special moves like Uproar, Hyper Voice and Boomburst.

You retard, Pixilate and Refrigerate are the main reasons why Hyper Voice became a useful move.
There is objectively no reason to make a concept as simple as sound into its own type.

Most of these pokemon don't have clear references as to why they're sound inspired and in fact most of these feel more like they wanted to make it feel more like an actual viable type without actually changing it from sound....5/10 improve then come back

Pheremosa and Primeape are humanoids that could reasonable use martial techniques, so fighting is reasonable for them too.
Anon wasn't completely correct, Fighting also covers atheletics, but all in all the number of Pokemon that don't fit those two categories are in the minority and are mostly mons added in SS, which had the shittiest dex anyway.

Anyway sound is retarded and if you removed it you're neutering Normal typed special attacks.
