Kirlia uses psychic power to see the future, distort space to create mirages, and create pocket holes to different dimensions. Kirlia converts psycho kinetic energy into physical kinetic movement through dancing. Kirlia is the Emotion Pokémon. Ignoring Gardevoir for this because Gallade is a separate branch if their family tree, you mean to tell me that Gallade should not be a Psychic type? The two Pokémon that Gallade evolves from with a strong connection to the Psychic type in lore and classification. Besides, Gallade is said to have the ability to manipulate psychic energy blades and fire them from his elbows, and he can read both the emotions and thoughts of his opponents to detect how they are going to act, as well as the wishes of both people and Pokémon who are in trouble and help them out in battle. Gardevoir line are based on empaths and guardian angels, which explains their Fairy type. Gallade does not have this motif but still fights for chivalry and honor. Psychic fits far more than Fairy in his case. With that said, I do hope we get a Fighting/Fairy or Fairy/Fighting Pokémon at some point.
