I agree. I'm making a fan game where the legendary pokemon are just difficult boss battles with stat boosts instead, and if you manage to KO it then you get a turn to throw a 100% catch rate pokeball, similar to raids.

Started with RB and the rng on catching legendaries never struck me as interesting or challenging, just tedious, because like every other kid out there I just reset when I didn't catch it.

This this this. I fucking hate how it works in old gens and I've been playing since red hit store shelves day one . Here's a half dead sleeping animal throw balls and see if you get the catch roulette lol. Super fucking lame. At least in newer games you'll get a crit catch before reaching 100 balls thrown . I also have no first starter since I reset the game so damn much as a kid for accidental legend kill saves I don't even remember who I picked.

Exactly why Let's Go's system of "Kick its ass and then catch it" is ideal.

Would be nice if Pokemon could go typical RPG method and give the legendaries large health pools (Like 6-8x so they feel like an indomitable boss)
