And as we know from Centro this is a build from December so for all we know they could have already made some improvements by the time they revealed it to us.

I doubt it, GF works on multiple titles concurrently. That would mean they're working on 2 open world games at the same time. Which they could be but I doubt it. Expect a more "traditional" experience with Gen 9, of course with whatever regional gimmicks and gym replacements they feel like pulling out they ass. If Legends does well maybe we'll get more open world games in the future.

I'd say it'll be more like IoA/CT. Legends feels more like a game to expand their 3D world and level design, than actually going where this place thinks they're going with the games.
Remember, they're still releasing the usual kiddy core game for Christmas with another likely next year. Franchise isn't stopping pitching at kids, so people shouldn't take the third game of a Gen too serious regarding direction. Gen VIII only took overworld spawns from LGPE after all and BW took nothing from HGSS.

Where were you when Game Freak released this on GBA? These graphics and especially those animations are likely going to get quite a bit more polish before release to get the blockyness out of it, but don't expect them to radically change the artstyle or background details in any way. The release is still a year away, so plenty of time to tweak models and lighting and whatever, but i doubt they are going to redo the game entirely.

No they didn't dextard. Hell, you didn't even need to buy the rehash expy to get the newly-added ones, unlike every other time where you *needed* to cough up for a new game.
And it's like I predicted - SS had their own line-up, BDSP will have its own line-up and Legends will pitch a slightly different line-up, everything gets into Gen VIII, Game Freak didn't have to cut content and ideas, just to get them all ready for one release.

No. You get PS2 graphics with decent performance because that's all they're capable of. The Switch is capable of a lot more than what's being done with it by most developers but to get the most out of the console they actually have to optimize it and write everything with the Switch in mind, otherwise we get sub 20 fps UE4 in-engine ports that sometimes still end up looking like PS2 or GameCube games.
