You’re supposed to love every Pokémon you catch during your play through. Once you beat the Elite 4 and become champion it’s fair game and you can release and discard what you dislike

I wish I had the option to give the Pokemon I dont need / want to other people. I could just spend a day breeding starters and give them out to kids so they don't have to deal with some stingy fuck who only gives them out to two local boys

If they were real? Absolutely, though I wouldn't catch them, they're a bit too 'human' for my taste. In game? Nah, they're just code. I cherish some of them but in the same way I like a super strong character in a RPG except at least those guys have characters.
