Why does Game Freak hate Bug types so much now? Their designs on the art end continue being consistently based since Gen 5, yet competitively they've been getting shat on for no real reason. Why is that?

Sure Gen 7 gave us lots of new Bug moves to mess with but the type advantage is still miserable. Does it REALLY need to be ineffective against Fairy?
