I'm pretty confident his plans fell apart though because I have ADHD, low impulse control, and lose interest in pre-established plans as new variables present themselves. It doesn't keep me from enjoying the games though. A lot of the fun, for me, is in capturing different monsters. Even if I'll never use it, I'll catch it. I like watching the Dex fill up, among other stuff. Part of the reason I wish Contests were still a thing. You could get some interesting utility out of certain moves and monsters.
