Polished Crystal makes trade evolutions happen when a certain stat is high enough; it is different for each trade mon. It isn't very hard to do. I got a Golem off of one Iron and just throwing my Graveller at every Trainer. I believe TMs are reusable but I am a very unga-bunga player, so I hardly use them in the first place and don't remember.
Polished is very good. Try it.
