Look, you're free to like Z-Moves/Dynamax for whatever retarded reason you might have, but you can't deny that they are inherently counterproductive to progress.
There is nothing to them. They are just meant to be a flashy thing to give some sense of uniqueness to their region and nothing more. Rather than give Alola or Galar something memorable like the regions from Gens 1-6 had without a gimmick, they just decided to give it an exclusive feature and call it a day.
They will never be expanded on, they will never be brought back, their only purpose is to live and die in the region it desperately tries to act as some big deal in. There's nothing FOR the player in that. Even if you like Z-Moves or Dynamax, it doesn't matter because they will never be brought out of Alola and Galar, and can't even inside of the lore either.
It's a convenient excuse for GameFreak to bring something up without the repercussions of needing to explain it. It's not like contests, secret bases, or megas, where it is some groundbreaking change that actually benefits the player in some way and the nature of the Pokemon world.
Gimmicks are shit. They will always be shit. Stop defending them. Z-Moves started this trend and the series hasn't recovered since.
