>>47198788>Good designs are digimonYeah no. Like don't get me wrong, the OG niggas like Agumon, Gabumon, etc, you can make a case for those.
But a lot of Digimon designs, by virtue of their in-canon existences, are chaotic and nonsensical as fuck.
I think another part of why people like Pokemon is because there's a clear line of growth. You start off with your Nidoran M, it becomes a Nidorino and that becomes a Nidoking.
Meanwhile in Digimon you start with a blob that becomes a creature that can become anything from a monster to a sentient gun to just a fucking person wearing clothes.
That lack of cohesion in design can turn people off, but it's made worse by the sheer amount of Digimon that eventually become just a dude or a irritatingly looking human version of itself.
The Gabumon line was fucking kino til they decided to introduce shit like WereGarurumon or those gross human looking ones from the movie.
Mind you, I'll happily throw a Pokemon to the wolves for doing that shit. People need to stop making beasts into people. I want Pokemon/Digimon, not Pokemen/Digimen. And Pokemon seems to have a much better track record in keeping monster elements in it's more human-like creatures than Digimon.
