Point still stands, the hoennbabs couldn't deal with "the battle frontier project has started!" and then got intensely angry when Legends got shown off. It'd be easier to accept BDSP, but with the reveal whos made that and Game Freak love the region enough to actually do something different to it, well that was just the final straw. The fact Sinnoh is the 2nd most popular region (behind Kanto, naturally) in Japan was also another reason they went this route, pandering to the Japs > pandering to weeb mannchildren and Japs didn't care about the BF removal as much as the weebs did.
