It's simple really though your zoomer brain hasn't deciphered it fully
Digimon anime came out in 1999, therefore it gets copied by gen 3-6 Pokemon
Yokai Watch came out in 2013 and gets copied by gen 7
Temtem came out in 2019 and immediately got copied by gen 8
Every single one of them has superior designs to the shit we see in gens 3-8 Pokemon.
