Im so glad I never have to deal with this terrible gimmick in my mainline games ever again. You can continue to enjoy them in your shitty spin offs, and I can continue playing mainline without seeing one of my bros get mutilated design wise. Its a win win.

It's fairly safe at this point to assume megas will not be returning since they were in the background of gen 7 and not seen at all in gen 8. Unless they get into Legends, but that wouldn't make sense as LA is set before other games in the series.
