>>47207756ATB is turn based. I don't get why people think it's not. It's not round based like the other Pokemon games, older FF's, or Bravely Default/Second on the 3DS (maybe Dragon Quest, I haven't played one more recent than 9 and I don't want to look up gameplay, but it's probably round based too).
>>47208461I have a lot of complaints because too many games I really liked were ruined by "innovation". Zelda was one of the first, LttP took away everything I liked about the first game without adding anything good (that happened in Link's Awakening). Banjo Kazooie Nuts b/w Bolts might be a good video game, but it's not what I wanted. And Bravely Default 2 feels fucking awful to play just from going from round based to speed based turn based battles, which is fucking impressively bad. Granted, I've got a lot of counterexamples, Xenoblade 2 comes to mind, but in a lot of cases there's something a little scuffed they could fix up. Pokemon was mostly fine back in Gen 3, and was pretty much perfected before Gen 5 came out, so I understand we've had over a decade of the game being "solved" on the back-end but that's not an excuse to fix what isn't broken. I could point out Sonic or Final Fantasy choosing to make bold decisions that fuck everything up, while I could also point to Nintendo making relatively safe choices with Mario that made Super Mario 3D World a game that was just overall good but didn't push many envelopes.
>>47208552>>47209275Would they though? Legends will release in Summer, maybe late Spring, if I had to guess (and it doesn't get delayed which could happen). While Summer isn't a huge spending season, it is a decent release window, far enough away from the holidays on each end that it should be fine. In addition, the game will sell at Christmas regardless of if it was released in Summer or November. Not to mention the Switch Pro rumors, if it's another March release for some reason Legends could be a launch title for that version of the hardware.
