They're about even, it all depends on what you bring to fight them both. In my opinion Cynthia is more well rounded while the only threatening members of Leon's team are Aegislash, Dragapult, and Haxorus, but those are really strong hard hitters. Cynthia has the better ace though, I was surprised by how frail G-max Charizard was, really shitty ace.

A lot of people say that older pokemon games where harder. I'm not sure about swsh but in gen 7 pokemons in trainer battles had perfect ivs and I might be wrong but I think they might even have moves they don't learn by lv(so like tms/egg moves/tutors) so with the ivs alone the newer gens should technically be more difficult than the older ones. I think they feel this way because they where younger and stupid when they played those older gens. Gen 4 is an exception. I hear Cynthias pokemon moves changed if you were over leveled.

Me too, because at least with Wallace his Gyarados is a threat if you can't 2HKO it and it sets up too many Dragon Dances. Meanwhile nothing on Cynthia's team is difficult to beat.

Cynthia definitely throttled me as a wee one, I think that mostly came down to wanting to use whatever I thought looked cool at the time (shoutout to my main man Rampardos) versus nowadays where I have a good idea of what to expect and a decently balanced team will trounce any in-game content

Honestly, I can't think of a single time I had trouble with her. If I was able to beat Lucian, I could beat Cynthia no problem. You wanna talk about hard? This guy thwarts me time and time again, but Cynthia is almost always a cakewalk unless I'm only using glass cannons.
...Maybe that's why people find her so hard (not because they're dumb, just that most of Sinnoh's main good mons are all attackers).

Unless you skipped most optional trainer battles it’s imposible. I’ve played it 3 times and I’ve never grinded, and I’m always overleveled. Plus you get your dynamax and unless you’re retarded you will probably use it to greater effect than the dumb ai. Kill yourself weak bait
