i hate how washed out the gen 1 and 3 pokemon are. the gen 2 pokemon at least got new sugi artwork for hgss, kanto and hoenn haven't got any new ones since gen 3. they look really out of place when put next to gen 4+ pokemon. anyone else feel the same way? i mean just look at swampert there. even next to empoleon it looks weird due to the colours.

either way, they should be consistent. the old mons and new mons look weird side by side because of this style shift.
at least the dream artwork uses bright and consistent colours. i would like so many more kanto and hoenn mons if they just went back and updated the sugi artwork.
i hate how my autism doesn't let me use manectric or hitmonlee in swsh because they look like they're fading away compared to things like orbeetle and rillaboom with their saturated colours.
or maybe i'm just autistic.

yeah, it was just a simple saturation boost, obviously the designers could do a better job doing it from scratch.
i mean, just look at sceptile side by side with rillaboom. on his own he looks fine, but next to rillaboom he looks like he's from a different series entirely. even in the anime some of the older mons have boosted colours.
a touch up the old mons' sugi art would go really far to make them fit with the new style i think.
