By default they should be so brain dead easy that kids can beat 'em, but if you're older and you want to even remotely challenge yourself you have to limit yourself in some way.
The one and only time they implemented extra difficulty was during Black 2 and White 2, and even then the method of unlocking it was convoluted. It was a step in the right direction, giving every Gym Leader and Elite Four an extra Pokemon and revamping movesets and even entire rosters for the E4.
Then they abandoned that. I guess I'm just wondering if you had the option or the choice, how would you implement difficulty settings in the games?
Just wanna know what you guys think. I've just been playing enhanced difficulty ROM hacks this whole year and it's been one hell of a time but it's gonna be incredibly hard to go back to the main series unless I actively limit myself, whereas I've actually HAD to use everything I could in these ROM hacks just to give myself the best fighting chance.
