I would ride a steampunk wagon, but would have a Bouffalant or Tauros in case traction was lost. In fact, my whole team would be based on Pokemon to help me in this difficult journey a drag pokemon for arid lands, another drag pokemon for snowy conditions, a semi-aquatic pokemon that helps me in rivers or lakes, a pokemon canine as a guard, a great flying pokemon for exploration or emergency escape. The last pokemon wouldn't know who to choose between a drag pokemon for night or tunnel conditions, an electric pokemon for lightning storms and as a backup battery, or a pokemon with healing abilities?
I know it's silly but the old west has always seemed like an exciting and terrible place to have lived.
