>>47255604I love B2W2 and not gen 5 as a whole. Pokemon doesn't have a deep story but while BW has the single best story it doesn't capture well the essence of what a rpg is supposed to do. You must have a lot of options be it in your party, content or both. BW was limited to it's dex and only saw improvements in post game. B2W2 already has impressive variety by default. And has the single best post game in the series. Nowadays pokemon games are just main game and online content, you actually have to pay $30 for post game in the current gen.
So yeah, B2W2 aren't flawless by any means. It just has more positives than other games because it shoots everywhere for extra content. Even the regional differences between the 2 versions are beautiful and add to the themes presented in the game. But they never continued with those differences between version out of laziness.
Also even the kanto pandering PWT did was fun. You got to beat old gym leaders and their new teams, you get to see Brock with a modern and polished team that doesn't go out of his theme. It's way more refined than charmanderino being shoved in every new entry, but I have no complaints about one of them. Gen 7 treated Charizard better as a part of transportation, this isn't a problem just like I don't mind the bridge from Gen 5. But Gen 6 had 2 mega evolutions and a kanto starter that would just scream "pick chamander" while Gen 8 has the champion and all his fans talking non stop about charizard. Gen 6 starters never got megas in their own game while kanto and hoenn starters did. It's really disappointing how GF ignores all nostalgia that doesn't involve the first 151 mons nowadays, hoenn starters getting mega evos had me thinking they would revisit Johto starters at some point, but it never happened.
