>>47275380Most defensive teams for 90% of Sword/Shield's existence have been a combination of Corv/Skarm, Mandibuzz, Toxapex, Clefable, Hippowdon, and Blissey. Nidoking can handle all of those easily, with Tbolt 2HKOing the birds, a solid 2HKO on Toxapex and Clefable with Earth Power and Sludge Wave, and Blissey can get chunked by surprise Superpower/Focus Punch sets that have been on/off popular on it.
While its speed is low for an offensive Pokemon, its power is ridiculously high from Sheer Force, and its coverage is supreme. There's nothing in the game that can resist every Nidoking set, and about 87% of Pokemon are weak to at least one of its possible moves, so it's almost impossible to predict around. Not only that, but a lot of common Nidoking sets ran 3 moves + Substitute, so you'd have to eat at least 1 hit while Nidoking gets a free hit on whatever you switched in, so it could also kill faster threats like (non-Infiltrator) Dragapult, Garchomp, Tapu Lele, and etc.
