>>47270642That apathy is dangerous, because you end up not caring to even bat an eye about the whole thing anymore, and there's quite a lot of people i know, both japanese and worldwide, that rather than play the pokemon games, they prefer collecting other stuff, like plushes, clothing or something else.
Those who push the games to sell have the mentality of making it strictly a thing of FOMO, and peer-pressuring on the acquisition of the game, to be "socially acceptable". If this weren't the case, there wouldn't be so many used games of Sw/Sh on bargain bins at all in stores, and especially, in second-hand stores in japan.
This is a fad that seems to persist ever since 6th gen, in which anything regarding the sales of the games and the actual enjoyment of them, along with most hones opinions seem always off. Like, fabricated in many cases; something that never happened before (in pokemon. CoD and Rainbow Six had this happen to them as well)
But, is the fad sustainable on the long run? Not at all. There will be a moment in which the next big game doesn't sell well, due to pushing everyone who would had like it into apathy, and those who shill for it actually reveal they're a minority; maybe then GF will actually own up to their flaws, rather than deflect them or plainly ignore them (or being buried by "checkmarks", like in Joe's and any Tuber's case)
Anyways, nice thread OP, wanted to give an hones opinion before fading into the dark again. Breath of fresh air it was; but i'm not as optimistic like others.
I'll illegally download those three games, and play them for a while, but i'm not hopeful to see any ammends by either Masuda or GF, or even ILCA anymore, to provide a carefully built product/experience.
