I realized after watching other people's playthroughs how much I suck at these games. I basically always make a team of starter + cool pokemon I find with different type advantages to get super effective hits and that's it. I watch people talking about all the different base stats of the 900 different pokemon, move combinations, items, EVs, IVs, and I just can't wrap my brain around it. I play chess competitively but getting into competitive Pokemon seems like a gargantuan task of memorization. How do people learn all this shit?
