>do good work, pitch in here and there, and design some good pokemon
>gamefreak digs your work so they let you be art director for a mainline pokemon game
>create some nice-looking concept art to give everyone a feel for the region, but all the designers do a piss-poor job of bringing the vision to life due to lackluster modeling/texturing/animation skills made worse by the perpetual crunch time that plagues the company
>your entire team greenlit some arguably terrible/disappointing pokemon during the roundtable, including what is unfortunately the only horrid blemish on your track record of good designs, but it's not like bad pokemon designs are exclusive to any one region
>the game ends up being incredibly shitty at the fault of the entire company and tpc
>instead you become the scapegoat for all of the series' problems by a bunch of sweaty manchildren who don't know what an art director does simply out of spite for some negligible reason such as you not being japanese or ice cream cones or something
it's really unfortunate.
