I agree Metronome sucks. Sucks because it doesn't work with Roll Out or Ice Ball, and sucks even more because it resets once the maximum damage is reached. Theoretically it would be good on a wall breaker, but sucks too much to really be considered.
That being said, I used this on a meme team once on a Palpitoad and I 2HKO'd a Clefable with Muddy Water because I hit on two of this item's most powerful attacks. So I have a bemused appreciation for this worthless item.

It would have to be something as low as Dugtrio's WHILE also being able to deal high damage at the same time against something like a Blissey for Shell Bell to heal more than Leftovers. In that scenario, you're better off running Life Orb to kill things instead of recovering your HP.

Kabutops was OU for most of its existence and even had a brief stint in ubers. Aerodactyl has access to Sky Drop and resides in a fantastic speed tier, which makes it a MVP in doubles.
