Aether is a missed opportunity because Lusamine is too one dimensional for that role.
Yell is just... Cheering the new waifu.
And I won't talk about the "team". Rose is the single worst writting mistake in this franchise.
I really find villains more interesting that heroes most of the time. Heroes are boring and predictable but Pokemon has really bad villains... And thugs too, sorry Guzma.
