I fucking hate Pokemon fans, why do you want the series to actively regress? I get that the sprite based games were good, but for a group of people who supposedly want the series to evolve, 3D is the way forward, it's just that GF sucks at it so far.

What they don't realize is that Game Freak hasn't changed. They still develop games like they're on the GBA, they and the series haven't really done much evolving.
The series has always had good games and bad games, GF moving into the modern era has just made how shitty the bad games can be more apparent.

3D is the way forward, but gamefreak still has a long way to. The cities and some other areas in SwSh were great, but half of the game was PS2-tier (especially the wild areas).
I do hope that they make another 2D game however

Exactly. Either get rid of 3D or get rid of GameFreak. The latter option is the best case scenario but this will never happen.

Rather than sucking, why not work on sprite-based game? BW2 showed us that it can be good. If they keep perfecting that formula, ignoring trends like 3D models and gaming, I'm sure they can make something amazing. Imagine XY and SM as a blend of sprite and 3D.
