If Pokémon aren’t menant to be viewed as animals than why did New Pokémon Snap give almost all of them animal cries and make them all act like woodland critters?

PMD has no humans around except for the player who is transformed into a pokemon. It’s a deliberate choice because having talking Pokémon that behave like people wouldn’t make sense based on how Pokémon behave with humans around.

Although there are no humans seen multiple characters are aware of the existence of humans not to mention in both PMD 2 and PSMD the protagonist befriended a pokemon before ever being transformed into a pokemon meaning that they were in the same world before they were transformed.

maybe it's like Narnia where some are intelligent and able to build societies, and others are just plain dumb animals that the others usually look after
in MD pretty sure they even state that the wild Pokemon you battle in dungeons have basically gone feral, and they certainly don't act like the civilised Pokemon you meet

Humans still exist in the Mystery Dungeon universe, it's just that most Pokemon have never seen one and don't believe that they're real. One of the friend areas from the first game is an abandoned lab that was stated to be built by humans.
