Even if you were to claim there is a console pattern even that's broken because we got Let's Go on the Switch but are also getting two more Sinnoh revisits.

They have pokemon, not because previous games also had pokemon, but because of the fact that pokemon games simply have pokemon.
Likewise, games just always release in pairs. That's how it works. Not because it's a trend they abide by, but because they have to. They would have literally no business if they didn't.
