Why is the Dragon type back in the TCG? I thought they removed it when they merged Fairy into Psychic because they were both too specific to be their own types.

So:

>Poison was removed from Psychic and merged into Dark
>Fairy was merged into Psychic because it was only good against Dragon, making it too specific to exist, and now Dragon's new gimmick is having no weaknesses or resistances
>Dragon is now a gimmick type

Because they all require different kinds of energy, you can't really build a deck around dragons, all you can do is slap them onto other decks
