Ice now gains boosted Defense in Hail + resists Water, Fairy, Grass and Ground
Psychic is neutral against Steel (but Steel gains it's Dark resistance back) and supereffective against Fairy. Psychic also now resists Fairy, and cannot be confused
Fairy and Ghost no longer resist Bug
Dualtype STAB's deal 1.25x damage. Monotypes keep their 1.5x STAB
Megas, Z-Moves and Dynamax/Gigantamax removed forever
Type gems return
Scald nerfed to 70 BP, U-Turn nerfed to 60 BP, Knock Off nerfed to 45 BP

Grass isn't even shit. Some of the most competitively viable Pokemon out there are Grass-Types (Venusaur, Ferrothorn, Amoongus, Rillaboom, ect)

Grass is actually a surprisingly ok defensive type, despite it's many weaknesses. Grass has resistance to many relevant types, such as Ground, Water and Electric. It's also the only type immune to the many powder/spore moves that are so common in VGC (and to a lesser extent, Smogon). It honestly isn't as shit as it may look on paper

Grass has the biggest gap between good mons and shitmons.
Grass is a fundamentally bad type, and most Grass types end up bad because of it.
But Grass types also get some of the nicest things. Chlorophyll, strongest priority move in the game, 181 base Attack, Spore and Rage Powder. Presumably they get these things to make up for how bad Grass is on the type chart.
But the Grass types who don't get any of these things are just shit. There's no redeeming qualities to being a Grass type that GF doesn't love.

Most of the other changes are unnecessary/actively worse except for nerfing Dual-type STAB, and Nerfing Scald, U-Turn, and Knock-Off.

Yeah but some types are meant to be better offensively than defensively, Ice has 4 weakness and is meant to be an offensive type so having only three resistances should be good enough. (Ice, Ground, Fairy) though you could swap Ground for Flying since ground already has a type, an ability, and an item that makes Pokemon immune to it. (Water isn't that great offensively anyways so Ice resisting it wouldn't help Ice all that much).

Ice resisting Water would be beneficial for Ice-type Pokemon that are weak to Water like Aurorus and and Mamoswine because they would otherwise take neutral damage from it as opposed to super effective damage.
