So decided to play Pokemon White for the first time and mostly blind since everyone on here loves to shit on it

Been surprsingly decent so far, just got all the badges and heading into Victory Road

Got mysef a full team of 6 that I like at last, but are they decent choices /vp/?

Pretty solid team, I would personally replace Cofagrigus and Simipour with Jellicent and then have the extra slot for something like Volcarona or Galvantula.

I'll tell you this, walls and tanks are fucking awful in game, they have little longevity in dungeons and are extremely vulnerable to status. I'd imagine Krookodile and Mienshao are carrying your team.

They're not bad at all, people are just mad at the soft reboot attempt. Unova is a good region and there's a lot of good pokemon designs, including the trash bag and the ice creams. Both player characters are the best designed in the series. N is a really good character. The story isn't amazing but it's definitely the best the series has to offer. Seasons are comfy.

They're not my favorite but they're good and definitely better than every subsequent generation.

Definitely fun, although I would avoid playing a remake right after an original version, for example, I played Red, then Crystal, Emerald, Firered, etc.
Playing Gold and then Crystal back to back would burn you down. So I'll mostly be playing the remakes of said games unless there's a big difference to warrant playing the original and then the remake. Like Pokemon White and White 2.

Your rivals have unique characters and it's more about the small character arcs about all of you finding their place in the world. Bell is a bad trainer, but helps the prof and wants to be more independent. Cheren who thinks becoming the best will let him feel truly alive but realizes that there is sometimes always a stronger one.
N, well that is obvious. And in the end how N tells you "It's your story anon". Damn do I love this game. Plus it has a good pacing.

Black and White 2 were amazing and the fact they flopped so poor in sales thus forcing Gamefreak to 'play it safe and casual' is what lead us to the Sword and Shield mess imo

Absolutely, it hits really hard from XY onwards to be perfectly honest. Everything becomes more easier and handholdy after Gen 6. I think the only exception was any battle facilities.

I think there was a blog that Masuda wrote about Gen 5 saying that it was the most experimental gen for him, so I guess the poor sales made TPCi want GF to make games more samey to play it safe.

its main problem is that both drilbur and sandile are available earlier, are stronger, have better coverage and speed, and actually have two usable STABs.
if you want a ghost i'd go with cofagrigus or jellicent.
although you can use him if you don't want to use the shitty birds for fly, which is definitely a valid opinion.

Galvantula's solid for Compound Eyes Thunder alone
Eelektross has some decent stats and due to Levitate it doesn't have a weaknesses most of the time

Yeah, I'm definitely leaning towards using Galvantula, I've always ether used the Volcarona from the Relic Castle or Escavalier for my go to bug types.
