I'm 28 years old, I started with Pokémon Blue, my favourite Gen is 2 and I still think ORAS are the best Pokémon Games in this franchise. Pure SOUL. I almost cried while playing these remakes.

It makes sense Anon, you played it as a bullied highschooler that was too cool for Pokemon. Download a ROM, play it in Citra with increased resolution (not filters, but resolution) and enjoy a good ride.

ORAS are amazing games if you just care about story.

i dropped the game then because it wasn't much more interesting than just playing RSE. aside from the dexnav, the games' transition to 3DS was not good. it seemed to possess the same ugly/rushed features of XY. this was a popular opinion when it came out even - b2w2 were just released two years prior and difference in design quality and execution was evident. also what are you talking about - why would i have cared about the story in the hoenn remakes? go back

Not only has there been good Pokemon games since then (USUM, Super Mystery Dungeon, Masters, etc), but Gen 6 specifically was one of the lowest points in the franchise. It will always be the dark spot in between two good generations and you denying it will never change that.
