It’s cute and makes sense since you’re supposed to bond with your Pokémon I liked how in gen 7 you had the option to go right into it after every battle and you could see your Pokémon all dirty or wet or maybe even paralyzed or some shit and you could take care of them right then and there if you wanted to

They starting to take away slowly.
XY let you do a silly but cute minigame with your pokemon and three friends visiting their amie room. SM/USUM removed that and only had you petting and grooming them. Then SWSH removed it all for camping, which is a different approach altogether.

Petting wasn't the only thing you could do in Amie. You can still still feed Pokémon in SWSH as well play with them.
